'10th Anniversary in memory of Syd Barrett' at Syd, David and Roger's old School.

Since I performed at the Cambridge Rock Festival in 2014, I was introduced - or perhaps better educated - about the man, the myth, the avatar of psychedelia: Syd Barrett.

Being a life long fan of Pink Floyd, even the first song I learnt on guitar was 'Brain Damage' at the age of 3, the story behind Syd's involvement in Pink Floyd, and the obscurity of his solo work interested me greatly. Having listened to all of the Pink Floyd CD's over and over, I bought two of Syd's CD's ('Barrett', and 'An introduction to Syd Barrett') out of curiosity , and was captivated, astounded and nonplussed by his music.

Much like Pink Floyd, his music technicality, chord structures and out-of-the-ordinary style of play is interesting to listen to, yet his lyrics and tone are very innocent and psychedelic in a different way to other psychedelic bands.

After listening to his music religiously for the next few months I became a very big fan, and this was two years ago.

Come 2016 a school in Cambridge called 'Hills Road Sixth Form College' invited me to play at Syd's old school for the 10th Anniversary of his death.

(David Gilmour and Roger Waters, both from Pink Floyd, also attended the school).

I was honoured to be invited to perform on such a monumental occasion, and I would like to thank the school for inviting me to this memorable event.
