Wallflower Project - Press Event
On March 5th I got a message from the manager of the Wallflower Project asking whether I'd play for the Wallflower Project the following day.
The Wallflower Project is a non-profit social enterprise with one key goal; to create a network that brings people together to promote opportunity, wellbeing, empowerment and a voice for social change.
After reading into what the project is about, I was looking forward to attending the event and giving them my time.
Upon arrival I learnt that both Russell Brand AND Stephen Fry were booked to perform and host the event, however, due to complications with venue changes, the were unable to attend. I'm such a big fan of both of those people! What a shame they couldnt come! It would have been so cool to meet them!
I opened the show and played 5 or 6 songs; people were already up and dancing within just 3 tunes! I've never opened an event like this before, so to have that sort of response made me feel a lot more relaxed.
Following my set was a comedian called 'Jamie Green', who was extremely funny! I really enjoy stand up so I am pretty critical of , but he was very enjoyable to watch. If you ever get the chance to see him, do it!
After a couple of speeches about the project, and what it hopes to achieve in the future, I closed the night off with a few more songs.
I hope to get more involved with this project in the future, so keep and eye out for the Wallflower Project, and support in anyway you can!
